Cub Cadet or John Deere

I purchased a real old lawn tractor and I am trying to decide if it is a cub or a deer. Here is a craigslist link for now Tractor with plow . The guy I bought it from said deer but it is yellow under the green makes me think an old cub cadet. he also said it s a 12 hp kohler but seems much larger. Will post pics tomorrow.

I could swear I just saw this online somewhere as a Craftsman. It will help a great deal if you could determine if it's the original engine or a replacement. Does it have a hood?

I wish it had a hood. but i can get the mower deck . looks like the original engine. has gear magneto I think.

I believe you are right, and thanks for telling me or i would have been looking at deers and cubs all night .
I believe it is a 62 to a 70 craftsman suburban. :biggrin:
