I am sure that this is old news but I will throw it out anyway. From new I had a hard time leveling the deck on my 2009 model no. 917.28921 riding mower. I discovered that the blades were not shaped the same. After replacing them it was still difficult to get an even cut. Looking at the parts diagram I discovered that the adjustment device would fit either side of the deck. I purchased a new one and nowadjustment is a snap.

So your saying the adjustable link on the left side will replace the fixed link on the right side. I'm considering this but would like to have it verified before i purchase a new link.
Thanks

Cuda,
Yes it is a perfect fit and solved my problem. If you will look at the parts schematic, you will note that there is an * by the number for the fixed link and a note directly below stating that the parts can be substituted.
Additionally, I had to trace down an electrical problem and the task was harder because the electrical schematic provided with the mower does not show the wire colors. After some searching, I found that the schematic on Sears Parts does show wire colors. I will post this info as a different thread for others to see.

Thanks Tylertown that's just what I wanted to hear. I'll look for those wire colors.
