Hour meter has rectangular symbol with hour glass that flashes consistently when the key is on and/ or engine is running.
Is this normal or a problem.

Check out page 19 in your operators manual for maintenance schedule & perform necessary maintenance per number of hours on meter.

That indicates that the battery is either being charged (engine running) or discharged (engine not running). Hour meter is working properly.
