Craftsman LT1000 - hit something, now won't crank

I was on the mower and the blade hit something so hard that it it shut down the mower. I pushed the mower out and tried to crank it but nothing happened when I turned the key. It is in neutral and the blade spins. Not sure what else to check before taking it to the shop.

Make sure you turned off the mower PTO switch if it has one.
