Hello, I just bought a Craftsman II 18HP 44" (917.254722) with "transmission issues" I fixed that easy, but my deck has two positions. Up or down. And down is only halfway down the cutout for the lever. My dad had one when I was a kid that had like six spots for that to stop at.
My question is, do I need to raise the deck via the nuts on the mounts, or is there something else that I'm missing and isn't in the manual?
Don't knw this particular model, but mine has a big round knob down about knee level that allow you to adjust where the deck stops when lowering. Lift the deck up slightly and hold it while turrning the knob counter clockwise to lower the stopping point.
