Hi, I have an older Craftsman generator with 10HP B&S engine. Model number of generator is 580.325660
I pulled it out to start it, to prepare for hurricane season. Won't start unless I remove the air cleaner and spray starting fluid in intake.
Will not continue to run after starting fluid burns off. I pulled plug cleaned it well, looks good. Unit hasn't been cranked in 3-4 years.
Old fuel evaporated leaving varnish in the carb blocking off the fuel passages.
Pull the carb off and sak it in some carb cleaner for a day or two then blow out all of the passage ways
