craftsman 917.273100 keeps burning po switches!

[Crafsman mowers suck!]

Hello, i have a craftsman 917.273100 50' 22 hp kohler engine. First i should add i have replaced the rectifier and electric clutch. I thought these were the root of my pto issue but i after i replaced the clutch the pto switch kept burnin up. The first pto switch after the new clutch lasted for a few mows, then the 2nd one lasted around 2 hours. I have replaced the solenoid and now it wont work at all. I have to cross the solenoid to get it started an the amp meter shoots over more and more as i turn up the rpm's and it will gradually go back to 0. Im sick of putting serious money into it and am geussing its a short but im not good with electricity.

Purchase a multimeter tool at sears, etc.Multimeter Tool from Sears.com instructions should be inside, and troubleshoot after printing out schematic, and if you so choose have schematic laminated. Money well spent, multimeter tool.
