Craftsman 917.265285 Mower

When i start the mower and engage the clutch switch the blades will start to turn and then the engine will shut down. If i shut off the clutch switch the engine recovers and runs fine. I have replaced all the partss on the mower deck and the problem still exists. Could it be the electro magnetic clutch?

Could be the clutch but I would be testing the seat safety switch first.

Not sure on this mower but some have a safety switch on the gear shift to shut the blade off or shut down the motor when you shift into reverse. And you might (probably already have) turn the blade drive to make sure something is not locked up or blocked.
