Hey guys, I recently picked up this mower for $5 at an estate sale. It was in pieces, but I was able to get it running. My question is regarding the kill switch. It is missing the safety bar and cable at the top of the handle. It is also missing all the springs and linkages down on the engine. There are two wires coming up to the handle where someone began to install a kill switch. Is it safe to rely on just kill switch, or should I order the parts in order to install a bail like it had originally? It does have a throttle, but it's only two speeds, and it doesn't kill the engine. I'm not real sure what I am going to do with the mower, I may keep it, I may sell it. Thanks.

If you keep it just put a switch in there so you can turn it off unless you have people using it with single digit IQs.
If you sell it it must be either dissasembled or have all he safety system intact because you are asking to get sued unless the new owner signs a declariation acknowledging the unit is faoult and absolving you from any claim due to future acidents.

I have elected to replace all of the factory safety parts (handle bail, bail stop lever, flywheel brake, and cable). Got everything on eBay for around $30. They should all be in today, I'll let you know when I get her back together.

Forgot to update this thread. I got this thing all together a week or so ago. It runs great, and I'm glad I opted to replace the safety equipment on it. I gave it a tune up, sharpened the blade, and flipped it to my uncle.
