Confirming fluid capacity for hydrostatic transmission in a HRX217K6HYAA

I have a 3 year old (purchased new in 2022) Honda HRX217K6HYAA mower and recently I am hearing a growling/groaning noise when I first start mowing and engage the drive wheels. It quiets down after a short time. I don't have any leaks or signs of seeping, but I suppose it is possible that the fluid level is low or deteriorated.

I've read through quite a few different forum posts as well as a Google search and would like to confirm the fluid capacity for the hydrostatic transmission before I put in an order for the fluid. Is 4.75 ounces the correct amount of fluid? Can anyone confirm that number? I would like to remove the transmission and flush it multiple times.

I think these are sealed light grease filled gear boxes, not hydrostatic. There is fluid check that I am aware of.

They have 2 drain plugs and the fill hole is under the cap that holds the diaphragm in place. I've read the service procedure in the manual but it doesn't give a capacity.....just to fill it to the top of the hole.

Not a big deal, just trying to figure out how many 12oz. containers of Honda hydrostatic fluid to order.

You definitely have to remove the transmission to service it. I guess Honda didn't want a homeowner doing any preventive maintenance on it. It will be a fall/winter project for me.

I ran across that info on another forum. So far it is the only info I have seen with a specific capacity listed. It appears that the 1qt bottles have been discontinued, so 2-3 of the 12oz should be plenty to do 2-3 flushes and then a fresh refill.
