Mod# 31R977 0052G1 Purchased mower 6/2018 120 hours and compression release cam broke. B&S says out of warrantee and no service bulletins on it. It will start by rotating by hand counter clockwise to give it a running start. Is it unusual for it to break so soon? Is B&S correct. Anything I can do? Thank you

How do you know it's the CR? Are the valves adjusted properly?

Same thing happened to my Husqvarna with 18 HP B&S. Finally got tired of spinning the flywheel and had it repaired. Total cost $560 which included some other minor repairs. So far --so good.

Yes its common thing on B&S. Replacing part is only solution .
