I've been mowing with a Dixie Chopper Silver Eagle for nearly 10 years and have been looking at the Bad Boy 61" diesel. I don't know anyone with a Bad Boy and would like to hear comments about Bad Boys diesels. And also in general about how these mowers stand to bumpy terrain.

I can't comment about the diesel version but I've had a Rogue since 2021 with the Yamaha engine. The Rogue is about the same frame and design as the Renegade with diesel. It has held up very well over my mowing of my 10 acre property (about 7 acres mowed). My yard isn't exactly smooth. I wouldn't say it is extremely bumpy, but it is a rural property that was once pastureland so it is by no means a city lawn. These mowers are built pretty rugged. They don't skimp on the frame & metal thickness. The Rogue weighs more than my Deere x758 diesel garden tractor with mower deck on it.

Your 10 acres is much like mine, so a good frame and deck is important. My Dixie has held up well, but we are at a point where lots of little things are breaking. I am trying to extract a broken bolt out of a drive motor instead of buying a new motor right now. It seems almost every time we mow, something happens.

rough ride, handle poorly, high center of gravity, VERY long belt from engine to mower deck, NOISY, run a little warm (operator gets warm from radiator heat being directly behind them). Saw some frame welds break on them from time to time although not frequent. Pulley failures, belts, worn/bent blades were the "norm".

I sold a few of them but you can't sell any of them against Kubota. There is no comparison, period.

Sounds like Dixie Chopper from 20 years ago and spot on. Dixie Chopper went out of business and was revived by a new company that brought them back about 3 years ago. Don’t know current details but doubt they will ever be a factor for zero turn market in the future.

Bad Boy was a crappy zero turn 15 years ago, but today has a decent market share and is a solid mower for the money.

Dixie Chopper never went out of business they were bought by Textron. Textron owned Jacbson and they built both mowers. Mechanicaly they were the same mower with diffrent trim package.
They were then bought by Rhino Ag and are marketed under the Alimo group. It is a good mower,

I am a warranty service center and they are a tank, few issues ever. I cannot comment on the diesel model as not seen one. I have 4 Tractor Supply stores that we have done warranty on several products but Bad Boy had 2 early warranties that have been redesigned.

Mowing 10 acres?????? - get an automatic lawn mower - They usually come with 4 feet

I understand the history of Dixie Chopper. They got big exposure from being on Orange County Choppers. I have mowed with a couple Dixie Choppers 20 years ago when they were much more popular. I was not impressed, at all. The only thing they could do well was go fast. Cut quality, build quality, reliability, all sub par.

Depends on the model mower you mowed with there some I don't like. But over all they are a good line of mower and will put them against anything out there.
