i need to change the oil in my hydrostatic drives in my walker MTSD 2004 mower and they are very dirty. Can I put degreaser on them and hose them off? What is the best way to get them clean? the entire engine compartment is quite dirty.
Thanks

I recommend Purple Power or Simple Green cleaners. Wet everything down with cleaner really good and let it sit for a couple of hours.
Rinse with a good hose nozzle and repeat as needed. You have to give the cleaner time to work its magic.
Spray can degreasers are a "wallet flush". A spray bottle with 50/50 Dawn dish washing detergent and water works as a very good degreaser.
A narrow putty knife and a couple of old screwdrivers work well for getting into crevices.
