Here are some distinctions I found online:

Classics are timeless mowers with an agreeable standard of excellence. Although, "agreeable" is not always the case, and sometimes this definition is more subjective than not.

Collectibles contain rare features or low numbers of production.

Antique is over 100 years old and look it.

Vintage is aged, but is coming back in popularity. Vintage is often used loosely and should also state the production year for clarity.

What do you guys think?

Thanks for the reply. I think a lot of people use many of the words as synonyms, but there is a difference:biggrin:. If it runs long enough for me to drive it on the trailer, it must be a "collectible" to me!:laughing::wink:BTW,Briana, I didn't miss the irony that you don't own a mower.

Haha, that's right, but if I had a lawn, I would sure have one! :laughing:

I am also a fan of "vintage" anything and have often pondered the difference in terminology. :wink:

Hello! I think age and rarity make one collectible, but any mower I've had for a long time makes it classic to me.

To me it's all about the desire for that particular piece of gear. If I like it, I want it.

You can not always interchange these terms... depending on what you are referring to... But the terms 'Usually' will exclude New items... :smile:KennyV
