So as you all know Christmas is on it's way. Some people don't make a big thing about Christmas or feel too old. But there must be something which is still exciting...maybe the food?

Anyway as it's the first day of advent almost I thought a Christmas countdown and discussion thread would be interesting.

Christmas Countdown - Christmas Countdown 2012 - Countdown to Christmas

And I will join you in wishing Everyone Happy Holidays...

And I suspect we will all enjoy 2013 in spite of a lack of inclusion in the Mayan calendar ...

I will be doing inventory for my lawn mower repair business. But will probably have relatives stop by for a visit.

Merry Christmas to all, I am about ready to put 2012 behind me, not the best of years on many fronts. I figure next year will be less stressful & more enjoyable, might even get some rain, we sure need it bad. Thank you all for the knowledge you have given me over the last year, I have learned many things just by being a member.

Now that it's Christmas Eve I just wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday. Be careful on the roads (especially people in places like Utah and Colorado, and also Michigan and Pennsylvania, where it's snowing).

We got 2 inches of snow. I just finished shoveling my driveway, deck, and brushing off our car. It stuck to the roads but kind of turned to slush after cars went over it. Looks like it's going to be a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!

Whellp, got the post christmas blues. We found out that santa does not exist after all. Why? The spiffy genuine John Deere grease gun that we were wishing for, never showed up. We left hot chocolate and a box of cookies out there with a note. We couldn't help it because the garage has no heat and the quart of hot chocolate inside my favorite plastic coffee cup, with a red nose and antlers attached iced over: and we are sorry that the mice at all the cookies. And, although we didn't bother with the trouble of putting up a christmas tree, we did leave all the lights on in the house to let him know someone lived here and help chase off any monsters. We also added that he should be careful while in the garage as there is a lot of stuff laying around, and because it's dark, might not be able to see, and trip and fall.

From what we have read and heard about, everybody else in this world got what they wished for: Why not us?

Don't think Santa is real? Ask the United States Post Office if he is real or not.:laughing:

Santa is really the only cultural icon we have who's male, doesn't carry a gun, and is all about peace, joy, giving, and caring for other people. That's part of the magic for me, especially in a culture where we've become so commercialized and hooked into manufactured icons. Santa is much more organic, integral, connected to the past, and therefore connected to the future.
