I have a Kubota B7001 which I know nothing about do you check the compression on these diesel engine the way you would a gas one...?? thanks in advance johnny
Yes you do but a car tester is generally not able to handle the higher pressures.
There are diesel engine compression testers and usually they have solid tube connectors.
I have white smoke coming from the exhaust when ever I start it and when I accelerate the engine ..so I went to youtube and heard that it could be a few things including bad compression...?? have any idea what else I should check out ..??? johnny

White smoke means that the diesel fuel is not burning correctly due to a lack of heat in the combustion chamber. This unburnt diesel contains minor toxins that may sting your eyes. This problem may be caused by:
A clogged fuel filter
Incorrect injector pump timing
Worn engine (low compression)
Water or petrol contamination of the diesel fuel.
