I have a Stihl 036 that pumps way to much oil when using the saw.
After using the saw for a while, when the saw is killed and it sits for a short while it will pump a lot of oil out on whatever is it on. I would guess at least a quarter of a cup or more.
What would cause this saw to do this. I have looked and can't find and adjustment for the oiler. Thanks.
I have an old 036Pro, which should be the same as a 036, except for the decompression valve on the Pro. There is a somewhat hidden oil rate adjustment that can be accessed from the bottom of the saw. Mine pumps a lot of oil, also, if the adjustment is wide open. I usually run it just a "nudge" off the low rate, and it seems to run just fine, without wasting oil.
