Working on a JD LX 277/ MOL277C061290 with Kawasaki Code FH500V-BS11:
Owner was mowing when the fuel line from the fuel pump (or from the carb "overflow" line) to the carburetor evidently leaked fuel down to exhaust system starting a fire
that melted the carb ground wire, overflow line, and evidently damaged with carb fuel solenoid.
I wanted to rebuild the carb but I do not see a kit available in the JD parts site.
I assuming I have correctly chosen part number AM130924 for the carb.
I'd appreciate some looking over my shoulder to be sure there is no JD kit available or perhaps identify a rebuild kit from a will fit source.
Hi Bartles,
John Deere does not build the mowers. they "private label" their lawn equipment from other sources that specialize in those products.
AM130924 is a JD part number but not made by JD. The part can easily be found on Ebay or Amazon, but it would be aftermarket. Finding an original Kawasaki carburetor this old would be difficult.
Unless you like to pay John Deere free money for their branding, I suggest you get the actual Kawasaki engine information off of the engine label and go to Parts Tree or Jack's Small engine.
Even if JD could get a carburetor, it would cost 2 to 3 times more. They don't deal in the small carburetor parts much at all, mostly just compete carburetors. I know this all too well. I was a service manager at a local JD dealer for a few years.

The Kawasaki part number for the complete carb is 15003-7037 JD price is pretty close to the Kawasaki list price.
