I have a Briggs Engine #126782-0129-01 code 95050558 and it has a carb #494217 the throttle connect to a control bracket # 692021 the carb choke plate has a choke return spring that I don't know where it is anchored. I have searched the net and found the exact same problem however, they didn't post where it was connected. Thanks in advance.

The information I've found on that carb is its a manual choke hand operated.
does it click into position when moved to the open or closed position.?
if it does id say hand operated.
if not perhaps cable operated, or the spring.
(if it is using a spring on it, the anchor point should be close to the anchor end of the spring, it would be positioned to hold just enough tension on the choke to hold it closed and open when engine starts and puts a draw on it.)
I would just anchor the spring to hold choke in closed position and see if it runs properly.

maybe the carb had multiple applications (so it all depends on what product is was used on)

Thanks for the quick response, I attached it However, I'm not sure if it's in the right place. It is closed when the throttle is in the choke position and has a little snap action when moved to the fast action position. Without the spring connection the choke plate could be in any position with no control. Again thanks.

check to make sure choke is wide open when running fast.
if so then motor should run fine.
the engine should run steady (no surging, stalling, no sign of running rich)

that snapping sound may mean there's a little to much tension on spring
(you'll have to fine that "sweet spot" with it.)

your more than welcome for the response:thumbsup:
