It's leaking with bowl on, but if I hold it up with bowl off it'll stop. I stretched spring, didn't help. Any fixing the accursed plastic apparatus?

Have you checked to make sure there isn't gas in the float making it sink and not stop fuel flow at the float needle. Floats on occasion leak and fill with gas.

Yup, 1st thing. I just need to know if anybody's figgerd an adjusting trick. When America was great we had good brass adjustable floats.

Make sure the bowl vent isn't clogged. If the atmosperic vent for the bowl is clogged will cause siphoning.

Is the float valve rubber/Viton in good condition?
I there any fuel "varnish" , other crap, on valve tip/valve seat?

Nah, all looks new, got a catch bowl in inlet line. Only use non ethanol(water) gas.
