I have a BX2750B front snow blower on a BX2230 tractor. It has an electric auger that runs auger angles. The brushes and armature are wearing down fast and Kabota sells a new motor for $300. which is rediculous (most prices on Kabota parts are). I've been told this 12 volt electric motor is the same as an GM wiper motor and with correct make, model, and year of GM I can buy one for one third the cost. Does anyone out there know about this or have had this problem? Considering manual auger rather than buy from Kabota.

Those small DC motors are very easy to rebuild...
There may be a couple rivets that you will need to drill out.

You can make your own brushes by cutting down or reshaping larger brush sets.
Take it apart and measure up your brushes, any decent motor shop will be able to supply parts you will need.
Even if you need to turn the commutator, thats very easy to do with a drill press or even just a drill motor.
Bushings likewise are available but usually do not need replaced.

Definitely give rebuilding a shot, it is a lot easier than you may think and very economical... :smile:KennyV
