hi. My briggs quantum is old and used up not sure about serial number there is a number stamed next to exhaust

125k02 - 0189 - e1 05020357
Manual says series 120000

Anyway I have always kept on maintenance with frequent oil changes every 50 hrs or so. Air filter is blown out weekly and replaced anually no debris on this engine even under shroud or gas tank. But its like it just runs low on power when its under load. It gas a heavy gator blade I realize its heavier but I never expected this much power loss not entirely sure where to start you can manually open choke and hear the power and when you wedge a stick to keep wot while working it still loses power. I only tryed this to help diagnose.

Any ideas

No its kinda always done it. The gator blade made it worse I would like to keep using it because I really like it and I spent a lot of moneys on it

yeah there nice but they are heavy and if its to much for the mower to handle then you may have to take it off

Even without it it boggs down almost to a point of not being able to use it. This is my mulcher mower the super recyclers are designed very well for this if I could just get the power for it..... shame on toro for using briggs.

I did a test on 4 yards I cut each yard twice with factory blades then each twice with gator blades.
I side discharge always. I had less engine bog down with the gator blades.

I like the cut of the factory blades better but the gator blades last twice as long and they are only $4 more than factory blades

(( racing is the only sport that you need two balls ))

I would really like some advice another thing I am considering is swapping on a harbor freight honda clone. like I said this toro is beautifully designed the personal pace is easy to maneuver the wheels are nice with ball bearings and zerks. The deck design has a couple plastic triangles to push clippings back down the blade guard has wings to help push clippings into the triangles and with the gator blade its nearly perfect its really just has a disappointing amount of power.

Not that anyone cares but. I added throttle control from a different briggs same style just had a throttle. New plug, changed oil, new airfilter and prefilter and just put it to test so far so good.
