I have a customer who is telling me he has what he describes as a "snapping" coming from his engine at low idle. He says it sounds like spark arcing from the plug. Anybody else have or know of this?

Yes, it is possible he is arcing from his plug wire to the block somewhere. Not to sound like I am joking, just tell him to start it out in the driveway tonight after dark, and have a look.
If the plug wire is not attached to the plug, it will still run, poorly, and you can hear it "snap".
