I am working on a 13 hp ohv briggs and it is shooting oil out of the breather tube into the air filter. The oil level is correct. I thought it might be the head gasket but before I replace, any other ideas? The motor sounds great and starts easily.
Probably the head gasket but you could check the crankcase vent valve before tearing down. Disconnect the rubber tube coming from the vent to the air box, alternately suck and blow on it, it should suck easily and have substantial bleeding resistance to blowing with a quick change over. coming from the vent valve.
