Bolens 21 inch cut mower with a 500E/140cc Briggs and Stratton
engine. It has a problem staying running for 10 seconds it dies. Also have a Briggs and Stratton 8.75/190 cc on a craftman pressure washer with the same problem.. Have replaced plug and carb on it but it still has the same problem.

Is the gas fresh or from last year? If so remove plug and place over hole and turn engine. This will check if it has any compression.

Sorry, that didnt make much sence. Remove spark plug and place thumb over hole.
