Briggs and Stratton Intek Problem

Model 407776-Type 2195G5, code 120410YG my neighbors mower, was popping bad, I found a big mouse nest, and 2 bent push rods, the other cylinder was fine. I changed push rods and set valve lash. He ran it for about an hour and it quit. When it cooled it would start back up, I have changed spark plugs, and put 2 new ignition coils in it, still stalls, some suggested the diodes may be bad in the kill wires, neighbor is an electrician, so he installed new diodes. It will run about 30 minutes then shut down, if you turn the blades off you can start but it has no power, and can barely move then will,die, I have sprayed carb cleaner in the carb and it doesn't help it to start and it does have spark, I have removed the fuel cap. I need some suggestions on this one..

Also when this engine sits and cools it will,start up,and run great, for another 30 minutes or so. I thought the new coils would fix that but it didn't..

I am not the expert on this but here goes. Sounds like when the engine was overheated the valve guides moved. You will want to replace the head. Walt Connor on this forum has been able to fix this. I do not know the procedures so can not help with it.

buy a pair of red neon in line spark testers and fit them to the engine so you can see them while mowing.
Remove the hood, so you can see the testers ( hood is ornament )
remove the bridge wire between the two modules.
Check that the fuel solenoid will cut off the fuel supply and stop the engine.
now go mow and watch the testers.
If they flash all the way down to the engine stopping he has a fuel supply problem
If on or both stop flashing or flash irregularly you have an ignition problem or safety switch problem.
