I'm trying to get this motor started and am having a tough time. It pulls and spins freely, I replaced the spark plug with a new one, gas is fresh, oil is fresh and I removed the carburetor and blew it out with compressed air. Finally I did a compression test and it came back at about 50 psi. Any idea what could be preventing it from starting? I'd say its about 3-4 years old and had been working regularly up until a month ago when my Dad said it quit while he was using it. He couldn't get it started again after that and passed it over to me to see if I could get it running. Any advice is appreciated!

How about the model number information off of the engine so we can see what you are trying to work on.
Yeah that would probably help, its 020420 I believe from looking up the specs online. I could not find the serial number anywhere on the motor but I'm probably not looking in the right spot.

To me 50 psi is not good at all. Different gauges will give you different readings...........

That is not a good engine number. Is it on a push mower ? What HP is it ?
Model type and code should be on the air shroud stamped in the metal......
