First of all,
I'm new to the forum, so let me say hello. You'll probably see me over at the Scag forum. I have a Tiger Cub. I also have a DR Trimmer with a 675 series engine on it. Tried to start for the first time this year and it was a no go. Found this wire hanging. I attached a pic of the wire and throttle plate. The other end of the wire is attached to the under side of the white piece on the throttle plate. Any help would be greatly appreciated. May have to break out the old hand held Shindaiwa.
Thanks,

Could be the kill wire.

That is the kill wire that goes from the ignition coil to the kill switch from a dead man handle cable or on older mowers with a hand operated throttle control...
If your engine starts you will have to pull the spark plug to kill it.....

If it is the kill wire then the switch maybe on or around the carb.

I suspect there is two kill wires. One goes to the kill switch at the throttle control, the other one is for a deadman switch up by the handle. I suspect that is an unused connector that in your case is not being used.
Going under the assumption its an unused connector. I was getting spark, so on to the fuel. Fuel bowl had debris in it, so I emptied the tank. Gas from tank also dirty. Took off carb and cleaned and flushed tank.My gas cap doesn't seal very well. I suspect thats were the problem stems from. Install inline fuel filter and put everything back together. Runs like a top. Again, thanks for the help.
