briggs 550ex

i got a briggs 550ex when i got it it had hit something hard the blade was on upside down and the oil was full of gas and the keyway had been searded of so it was out of time i fixed all that and it still acts like its out of time looked at the valves the pushrods the carb the plug im stuck help thanks

i know you changed the oil but with gas in oil did you overhaul carburetor with kit?
