I have a Montgomery Ward Powr Kraft Lawn Tractor (1994) 18HP/42” mower with a Hydrostatic transmission. Something looks wrong with the way the brake rod travels. It kind of rubs/bounces next to and over this nut on a bracket. I have attached a small video to show

and a picture of bracket. Is brake rod installed wrong?

Who ever had this before me did some repairs that were wrong. I was wondering if brake rod should run thru hole in bracket?

You are correct that rod runs through hole in bracket.
