Hi
My engine took a dump and needs to be replaced. The mower is in the middle of my driveway now. I know to disengage the transmission you need to move the lever in the back. It has been years since I last did this. I tried moving the lever towards the rear. But it is not moving. I just want to make sure towards the rear is the proper direction before I use more force on it.
Tried looking up a Bolens ST120 and all that comes up is a Troy Bilt with a Peerless manual transmission. Model number under the seat along with the serial number will give all the information needed to look your mower up. Finally found the ST series tractors and they all had the manual trannys.
ST = Suburban Tractor , which rand from 1984 to 1993
The 120 was also known as 3212 & 3213
Depending upon the model it could have a 900 series Peerless manual tranny or an Eaton 7 series hydro coupled to a Peerless diff or a strait Eaton 700 series combined tranny.
So we are going to need just a tad more information.
