SNAPPER SCRAMBLER 38 " ZTR BLOWS 30 AMP FUSES WHEN KEY IS TURNED TO START CYCLE?
SO FAR I'VE REPLACED THE INIGITION SWITCH, STARTER RELAY, AND STARTER SOLONOID. CAN'T FIND ANY SHORTED WIRES. :confused2:

Keep searching the wiring and for a broken or chafed wire to ground (to chassis or other metallic conductor) . The battery thinks it should provide all it can since there is no proper load on the 12V line. Without the fuse you would melt the affected wiring.

THANKS FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE!

THE ONLY WIRES GETTING HOT IS THE RED (POWER) WIRE OUT OF THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR AND THE GREEN ONE COMING OUT OF THE POWER BLOCK THAT IT FED. REPLACED THE STARTER RELAY AND WIRE IS NO LONGER HOT. STILL BLOWING 30 AMP FUSES WHEN THE START SWITCH POSITION IS ENGAGED. ADDITIONALLY, DISCONNECTED ALL OF THE SAFETY SWITCHES (BLADE ENGAGE, SEAT, ETC.) ONE AT A TIME WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS (POW, ANOTHER FUSE). TRIPLE CHECKED ALL WIRING. IS IT POSSIBLE THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR IS THE CULPRIT?

http://bsintek.basco.com/BriggsDocumentDisplay/ahfqvJvLlSZk.pdf wiring diagram page 52, visually & by hand check all wiring & connections making sure connections are tight & secure. Check ground cables & straps to chassis, frame, etc.by hand. If your equipment is blowing fuses you have hot to ground somewhere, inspect everything electrical looking for burn marks.

Question.
Are you using a multimeter (Ohms scale) for any of the
investigations?
Often "point to point" checks payoff as the damage/fault is not in
plain view.
CHAFFING **inside** a wiring harness being just one example.
Busted/dislodged brush holder leads being another.

When a problem isnt obvious to the eye (in plain view) it is usually
the science which wins the day... but some jag a "fix" by throwing
enough parts in... jes sayin like.
