blades start slippen

I can mow 1/4 acer grass running full speed, everything going fine, i hit a small ant bed and blades slows way down.It wont cut nothing, turn blades off and back on same problem.Still no blade speed,let rest 15 min all goes back to normal-------i have checked belts ,bearing housings,springs and can find nothing wrong. i believe eletric blade engagement clutch is getting hot and not working right...can anybody out there had the same problem and could help me with this. tyty
