Hi all,
I am willing to admit "newbie" so please forgive in advance....
Blades for SPX2246; part number found in part manual indicates 1737228.
Now, as a not-so-fun exercise, go out and try to buy one of those:confused2:
( or 3 of them as is the case with 46" deck)
I have been around technical gear all my life so supersceded part numbers are not in themselves a trial for me, however snapper information is scarce to non-existent for the unitiated person on what these various blades are. There are at least 4 part numbers all containing 1737228 -- all with different suffixes, and no information anywhere on web, or in manual about the blades compatibility or when to use what. Parts dealers cant seem to help.
HEY SNAPPER -- oil changes and blades, thats what users need to know ? Why the big secret ?
complete part number ambiguation, no torque or index alignment specs, other frustrating barriers (not to mention slow web site)
I finally went to the local dealer who sold me three ea. 1739889's and advised me these replace the 1737228. Wrong. They fit, but are very different aerodynamic models (i.e. wings are almost flat )
if there are any snapper reps monitoring this site, please respond and let me know where I can get 1737228 or a genuine and actual replacement.
thank you,
John
