917.270514 14.5HP 42" Deck Craftsman Riding mower needs new blades. Any suggestions other than the #134149 mulching blade from Sears? I'd like to get something heavy duty.
thanks in advance!

Have you checked out the Oregon Gator blades? They have a pretty good rep of being a top quality blade. Unfortunately while I was working on my Brother-in-law's John Deere mower, there weren't any Gators in stock at the store. So I ended up going with Arnold Xtreme blade, which are kind of a knockoff of the Gator. He absolutely loves the way it mows now.

Personally I'd stay with the #134149 mulching blade from Sears. I think you'll be a lot happier with them rather than a Gator blade.

I agree the mulching blade for riding tractors are kinda the best.
They are cheap to replace
They do a good job mulching, discharging, and bagging if not wet.

We used Gators on our ZD 326 and got some good runs with them. We have also run some that are high lift from our dealer hot sure go brand. They are $30 a set.
