blade spindles

Bought a new Ariens 20HP rider. First time I used it on a new lot that had tall grass and straw. Cut the stuff great with no problems. I inspected the mower deck when I was done and the blade spindles has a lot of twine from the bales of straw wrapped around them. I removed the blades and was able to get most of it off but there was still some wrapped tightly around them. I tried cutting it off with a sharp knife but some still remains. Will this hurt anything?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Yes, I would remove all twine, if not removed could create problems in the future.

That twine is really tuff. I think I my have to remove the deck to get better access to them. Do you think if I was careful I could burn it off?

a pair of wire snip plyers usually works for me.......i take the blades off and drive front end up on trailer gate for better access

The twine could start to fray and work its way either into the bearing, bushing, or in there somewhere. Creating friction slowing it down and creating heat. Heat is no good for lube or grease
