I have cub cadet 1040ltx riding mower. The blades keep catching the ground and bending. It's gotten to the point now where I need to replace the blades because they are so bent and dull. I have read reviews about the current blades that are on it and they all say this is a common problem and the blades are over all crap. Are there any other types of blades I can buy to avoid buying the not so good ones sold for the cub cadet???

Any blades "hitting" the ground regularly is going to dull quickly. Bending may be a result too! You need to raise your deck a bit when mowing.
Any standard blade will do fine. I'd stick with the original manufactures blade as it was designed for your cutting deck.

I have the same mower I cut around 70 HUD homes a week with it and have not had this trouble with mine. If your blades are hitting the ground a lot then your cutting way to low. My anti scalp wheels won't let my deck get that low.
Now the blades are soft they wear out faster than gator blades. I can cut about 150 yards and sharpen them four times before the back fins start breaking
I am thinking you are cutting your grass as low as you can. I see this a lot people scalping the grass down to the dirt
(( racing is the only sport that you need two balls ))
