I have am older (2006 or so) John Deere X300 with a 42" mulching deck. I was looking for new blades and there are so many choices. I saw on Amazon a question about "will this blade fit my JD X300?" Someone said that you are fitting the deck not the mower. It got me thinking. Can I use any mulching blade as long as the star configuration and the length of the blade is correct?
