Briggs and stratton won't stay running

Hey everyone, this is my first post, so hello! I have an old Briggs and Stratton mower that won't stay running for me. When it starts it'll run ok then start bogging down and dies very shortly after. I found that if I push the primer when it starts to bog down it'll stay running, so it seems as though it's not getting fuel on its own. Any suggestions what the problem may be? Maybe the carb needs to be tuned or something? I actually have three mowers that are all pieces of trash and they all do the same thing, this one is the "best running" out of them all though. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

As the instructions say...give all info needed.

Make, model etc.

The guys that help the most here, need that info to know the engine and type carb. I did figure out it is a mower with a primer bulb...

Lol I'm sorry, it's a Briggs and Stratton! The mower says Briggs and Stratton "classic". 3.5...it's an older looking mower. That's all i can tell. Not a black and Decker hahahahah

That engine should have the model type and code stamped into the metal housing above the spark plug. Most likely starts with 9 or 09. I am going to guess that it is the plastic carb, on top of the tank, with 5 screws bolting the two pieces together. You will need to remove the tank, carb assembly, which comes off with a bolt in the plate above the spark plug, and another just next to the gas cap. separate the two pieces. and clean all the passages in the carb. and install a new gasket and diaphragm. that should fix most of the issues you are having.

Now if possible post the model type and code so we know for sure I gave you the instructions for the correct carb. There has been something like 5 carb styles used on that size engine over the years.

I cleaned out the gas tank and carb real good. Runs like a top! Thanks for the replies! Now I'm going to see if i can get the other mowers running as well.
