I'm looking for the best tool, bang for the buck, to cut a bunch of weeds, tall grass, and fairly thick brush - that has grown up and into the yard from outside the perimeter of our property and is now encroaching on our land, over the past few years. A day-to-day weedeater isn't strong enough.
I bought a steel attachment that was advertised to work with my Yardmachine Y25 but after I bought it and had it home, I realized this was not the case. I now realize that the Y25 just can't hack anything tougher than simple grass trimming.
I've looked on amazon, lowes.com, tractorsupply.com, homedepot.com, sears.com, and so on, trying to get some good ideas. The only decent ones I found were a greenmachine model, and a tanaka model. Both of these had very few reviews.
Was hoping possibly someone that peruses these forums might be able to suggest which model(s) to look for. Thanks much for any suggestions.
If you do not like the stuff for sale in the box stores then go to a Stihl dealer. Look that stuff over. The real heavy duty stuff seems to be harder to find nowdays with the demise of outfits like Hoffco and Tecumseh.
