Storing the lawn tractor for the winter in Virginia and wondering if it’s best to start tendering the battery now in December for the next 4 months or just tend it weeks or a month prior to spring?
I go out to shop and start all my equitment several times a month and let it run 20 to 30 minutes at a time just to keep everything running and charged and oil and gas circulating through system.

That is a full proof method to be sure the carburetor doesn’t gum up or get a chance to accumulate varnishes that will become a problem at a later date. I now use non ethanol gas with stabilizer however condensation throughout the winter months could cause problems as well.
Only down side, guess it needs to run for 20 minutes to top off the battery but is that really necessary if it’s being tendered?
