Howdy All,

This being my first post, so howdy first of all. I bought a craftsman platinum with the above engine and am curious about these engines. What is the life expectancy? I mow ~50 hours per season and am faithful with the maintenance. Wished I could have gotten that Honda I wanted, but with two sons in daycare/diapers, the wifey kindly reminded me of my priorities. So, what is the info ya'll have on this mower/engine combination? Is this the intek engine? Thank you all for your input..

Why have a Honda when you have that engine?

You have got what was called the quantum. It will have ready start so no priming or choking with cable just pull and start.

If you keep it well maintained it will out live your mower.

If you have the 7.25ex series engine I don't believe it's a Quantum engine. The Quantum I believe is the 6.75 series engine. I would have rather had the Honda, personally think the Honda is a better engine. You can copy and Paste the top 7.25 series link if you want the spec's and info. Ican't seem to make the 7.25 link work for some reason.
