Hello all, new member here and first post.
I have an Ariens Model # 931037. Bought it new in 1996, now at 1800 hours all original engine. Still running
strong. I want to rewire it and hope someone here can tell me how the diodes shown in the picture should go. Battery will not charge and I'm sure that is the stator. For now I just get started on replacing surrounding wiring.

Be best just to order the new wiring harness you need for the engine. The splices only leads to trouble and failure over time and cause more issues than you have already.

The diodes go on the ends of the stator wires and are a poor substitute for a full wave rectifier.
Two 1/2 wave does not a full wave make.
So get yourself a full wave rectifier, hook the two stator wires to it and the battery to the rectifier and don't forget to ground it.

Do you have a P/N for a full wave diode, where to buy. 1 or 2 needed. Also the smart spark has not been working in
years. Still trying to figure out which way to go, SMART SPARK/MDI IGNITION MODULE CONVERSION.
