Ariens Edge mohawk cut mulching.

I purchased a Edge used it a couple times and it seemed to cut pretty good side discharging. The problem is I like to mulch 100% of the time. I purchased a OEM mulching kit and installed it. With that kit I get a mohawk cut. A strip of grass uncut right down the middle of the cutting swath. I have investigated this on the net and have found that this is an ongoing problem with no fix.
I'm asking what you guys would do? Return it for a refund?
