Another Carb Question

[Franken-Roper]

So here goes, I was riding on my Trail Tractor Rally Roper and I went up a little steeper than expected incline and well I flipped. No damage from what I could tell. Started back up and drove back to the house. Well I have been busy the last two days so I have not started it up. So I went and started it up and drove it to the back yard where I work on stuff. Ran fine, then I work on the steering some and then I went to start it up again and it started fine ran for a minute and then quit, smoke came out of the carb and sounded like frying when I put my ear next to the exhuast, then I removed the breather to check in the carb and it was full of gas. What is the problem and how do I fix it? Please help. Thanks

Ok here is a surprise,I took the carb off and cleaned everything individualy, put it back together and put it back on. Carb started to flood again so I used my gas shutoff and shut off the main line and started the mower from what gas was in the float bowl and it started and ran fine while runing I turned the gas feed back on and after a few adjustments it ran and then BOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!! back fired shot the spark plug out of the head. Fearing the worst I put the spark plug back and surprisingly it started back up and ran fine no flooding in tha carb now but I need one thing. Can some one post the factory setting for the carb to be adjusted to so to run smoothly? Thanks.

Not sure what kind of engine you have or the specific carb. You probably won't find anything that tells what the factory setting is since the same carb is most likely found on many diffferent applications. Start the mower up with the blades disengaged and tune it till it "sounds right"...i.e. runs smoothly without any popping or sputtering. When you have that as good as you can get it, put a load on the engine by engaging the blades and see if it might still need a little tweeking. Good luck!

I decided not to foll with the 11HP Briggs I adjusted and adjusted and its a no go. I took a 14.5 Briggs I/C off a Yard Machine I ahve and all the electrical wiring gonna put it on the roper this evening. The 11HP wont run the starter went bad so that being said it seems like a better idea to do it. Will let ya all know the results and or if I have more questions.

Oh by the way the roper does not have a deck on it. I use the roper to ride on trails for fun. Thanks for the help Ifixdit
