Air lift & Trans Oil/Fluid Questions

Hi all, 2 quick questions. I have a Snapper LT140H33BBV, 33" front engine tractor. I bought it used and it had the bagger attached which I removed and just put on a side deflector. Question 1 is, will removing the air lifts from the blade make it cut any differently? Question 2 is, what type of oil/fluid do I use in the transmission?

In the Rear engine riders you use 00 or 2X Grease
I found some Napa Auto Stores in my area can order it for about $12 a quart if I remember right..

00 is Grease that is almost grease and almost oil..
It's grease that will run out of the bottle..

I'm not really sure what you need though..
