Seems to me you were told on another forum that the two had nothing to do with each other. IF this is the case, it is co-incidental.

There are different engines and models that are made with the Ferris name. Just what do you have?

The fuel pump is receiving the same amount of vacuum it did before you adjusted the valves. The fuel pump is powered by changes in crankcase pressure, not intake manifold pressure.
