I have added an extra PTO toggle switch on the steering lever on my 618 Grasshopper mower I do have a question as to the working of the switch, The switch works fine for a while and then it will not fully engauge the PTO, It only will try to engauge and makes a scraping sound like it is not getting enough power through the switch. I have tried two switchs that are 12 volt and 10 amps. The PTO is wired by a power wire and the ground through the frame of the mower, I wired the switch by splicing the switch into the ground wire. I am wondering if I should rewire the switch through the power wire for some type of electrical reason? Any input would be very appreciated.
