I was wondering if anyone ever had their mower deck electric pto come on by itself and not turn off? Is the pto shot?

Barring any electrical shorts that is feeding 12v to the clutch, the bearing in the pulley has frozen and will require replacing the clutch.

As stated, the landlord runs 2100 series Cubs on his farm.
They do around 500 hours / year each.
Had 1 electric PTO burn out and one bearing collapse which jambed the PTO on.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. I was standing beside the mower when the blades started up on their own. I unplugged the pto wires, but it kept on running. Wasn't sure if it would happen that quick.

Not going to be a cheap repair.
They were the top line electric PTO's in their day and still are but the mower is well worth fixing.
I have a great deal of respect for thoes 21 series that take an unbelieviable amount of abuse.
