2007 ExMark. Seems to hate replacement drive motors.

New'ish to Forum. I am new to old ExMark (pre-Toro) mowers. Have a 2007 unit that blows drive motor seals. Still have original Parker motor that leaks and a replacement motor only lasted about 4 months and now leaks. Both were seal leaks as far as I can tell from owners' description. Looking for suggestions on best way to repair the drive system. Still has one working Parker drive and everything else appears OLD OEM. Last motor leaked at seal as well as the original. Replacement motor was installed with new oil for system but thinking the old system may be eating itself and had not been maintained over years.

1. are there any kits for the drive system on a 2007 ExMark that upgrade the entire system. Pump and drive motors and lines.
2. Are there better motors to use?
3. Any suggestions for replacement motors.?
4. I need a service guide, any links?
5. For those experienced any tips, thoughts, or direction is appreciated.

Landscapers have been working on this mower. :( Now it comes to me for repair. I will have model and serial soon and will post but wanted to start a conversation as this is my first old ExMark.

First the Parker model is unreadable. If you kindly give us the model and sn from the serial number tag of mower, it would help looking things up.

Hello chuckpen,

Being that some "landscaper" DIY has been trying to "work" on it. Be careful to check the oil in the system. Too many people think that adding a little brake fluid or power steering stop leak to the hydraulic motor oil will swell the seals and stop leaks. All it does is keep softening them until they blow out and fail. Additives cause never- ending systematic failures with hydraulic components.

Being an '07, it likely has several thousand hours on it, and they are expecting miracles. Basically, they are nursing a failing machine and putting off buying new equipment.

My advice on one this old is get the parts money up front to protect yourself. Don't fall for the "just fix it and I will pay you when it is done" line.

I quit trying to save every machine a few years ago because people were playing too many games. If they pay for parts up front (plus 30%) then that shows they are serious. If they think you are crazy, they can haul it off in my opinion.

I have found in my experience Parker wheel motors to be top of the line.

I agree, Parker motors are not the issue, that is why I suspect an additive has been put in the oil and likely being continually added.
